Strange occurence

I opened Bridge today to get a picture to work on. I made my adjustments and then opened the image in Photoshop. The image was washed out and could not be adjusted to bring out the full color. I'm not sure what happened.

I had worked on a black-and-white image previously, but that should not make a difference. Here is what the image looked like in Bridge and then in Photoshop
