In this lesson we'll explore a plethora of tips related to working with Layer Masks and Adjustment Layers. These are all techniques I used on a single image within the last week, so I wanted to make sure I shared them before my mind went on to other projects. In the introduction to this lesson, I mentioned another lesson that covers a special adjustment layer that allows you to better visualize the brightness of your image. Click here if you'd like to watch that lesson.Note: The downloadable practice file for this lesson has been compressed into a .zip archive. That means you'll have to double-click on the file after downloading to expand the file before attempting to open the image in Photoshop.
NOTE: Some Windows users have reported issues accessing the video playback controls. While we're working on the issue, here's a Temporary Workaround: Click "Introduction" in the table of contents to the right of the video and then immediately click within the video to give it focus. After doing so, use the spacebar to play/pause the video and the left/right arrow keys to scrub forward or backward within the video.
I'm currently traveling interionally which prevents me from having the focus needed to tackle this issue while I'm away. We hope to have this issue resolved by the end of August or soon after. I will then focus on adding a Mark as Watched indivator and the ability to add private notes to a lesson. I had wanted to get these things done before my trip started, but recording enough lessons to cover the time I'd be away took longer than expected.
