This lesson shows how you can substitute a Smart Preview from Lightroom when you don't have access to an original image. Then, in Photoshop, you can use a Linked Smart Object to use that Smart Preview as a placeholder for the full resolution raw file. Once you have access to the original file, then your layered Photoshop file can update to swap the low resolution Smart Preview for the original raw file.
NOTE: Some Windows users have reported issues accessing the video playback controls. While we're working on the issue, here's a Temporary Workaround: Click "Introduction" in the table of contents to the right of the video and then immediately click within the video to give it focus. After doing so, use the spacebar to play/pause the video and the left/right arrow keys to scrub forward or backward within the video.
I'm currently traveling interionally which prevents me from having the focus needed to tackle this issue while I'm away. We hope to have this issue resolved by the end of August or soon after. I will then focus on adding a Mark as Watched indivator and the ability to add private notes to a lesson. I had wanted to get these things done before my trip started, but recording enough lessons to cover the time I'd be away took longer than expected.
