In this lesson, I discuss why raw files have more highlight detail available that will only reveal itself after you adjust the image. Then we'll get into why recovered highlight detail will occasionally show up containing odd colors and will potentially contain no color whatsoever. Then we'll look at a simple fix for smoothing the resulting highlight detail.
NOTE: Some Windows users have reported issues accessing the video playback controls. While we're working on the issue, here's a Temporary Workaround: Click "Introduction" in the table of contents to the right of the video and then immediately click within the video to give it focus. After doing so, use the spacebar to play/pause the video and the left/right arrow keys to scrub forward or backward within the video.
