In this lesson we'll explore Lightroom's new Local tab which allows you to view and adjust images without the need to import them or work with a catalog file. This is specific to Lightroom, which is the version that previously was limited to storing images on the cloud and is different than Lightroom Classic. We'll compare the local browsing capability to what is available in Lightroom Classic. There's a lot of click-bait blog posts and YouTube videos that do not tell the full story, which is why we're looking at it in-depth.
NOTE: Some Windows users have reported issues accessing the video playback controls. While we're working on the issue, here's a Temporary Workaround: Click "Introduction" in the table of contents to the right of the video and then immediately click within the video to give it focus. After doing so, use the spacebar to play/pause the video and the left/right arrow keys to scrub forward or backward within the video.
Update: I'm back from the international trip that was keeping me from working on the above issue. I'm actively in discussion with consultants who can potentially resolve the Windows playback issue. Once that is fixed, I will then focus on adding a Mark as Watched indicator and the ability to add private notes to a lesson.
