In this lesson, we'll explore the changes that Adobe made to Adobe Camera Raw in Lightroom Classic in June of 2026.

Changes to Lightroom Classic include:

• Improvements to the Select Subject and Select Background masking.
• A new Faces panel in the Assisted Culling area.
• Duplicate View, so you can easily find out if you have more than one copy of the same image.
• A new Filter in Smart Collection options that allow you to find images that have AI-related features incorporated.
• The ability to sync keywords from or to the Lightroom Cloud ecosystem.
• The Denoise feature has been re-enabled for Apple's M series Macs.
• You can now send HDR images to Photoshop and back again in 16-bit mode. You're no longer limited to 32-bit mode.

Changes to Adobe Camera Raw in version 18.4 include:

• The same improved Select Subject and Select Background Masking.
• They have added feather and edge sliders to Object Masks.
• Gradient masks now have a new bi-directional feature.
• They've added a Vector Scope that allows you to visibly tell the color range that is in an image and how vivid the colors are.
• It no longer zooms out when you crop an image, so the zoom level remains consistent as you go into and out of the Crop tool.
• You can now apply the Remove tool outside the bounds of your image.
• There are a couple of other tiny changes that few people will notice.
