In this lesson you'll learn how to extract the Depth Map that is generated by an iPhone when you capture images in Portrait mode. You'll then be able to use that map in Photoshop to do more accurate shallow depth of field effects because you'll be able to edit the map. This may also work for images captured using an Android phone, but I don't have one to test it with.
NOTE: Some Windows users have reported issues accessing the video playback controls. While we're working on the issue, here's a Temporary Workaround: Click "Introduction" in the table of contents to the right of the video and then immediately click within the video to give it focus. After doing so, use the spacebar to play/pause the video and the left/right arrow keys to scrub forward or backward within the video.
I'm currently traveling interionally which prevents me from having the focus needed to tackle this issue while I'm away. We hope to have this issue resolved by the end of August or soon after. I will then focus on adding a Mark as Watched indivator and the ability to add private notes to a lesson. I had wanted to get these things done before my trip started, but recording enough lessons to cover the time I'd be away took longer than expected.
