Displacement Maps
In this lesson, you'll learn how to bend a flat image based on a grayscale "map" where bright areas cause the image to bend toward you and dark areas push the image further away. We'll use this to bend a flag, to plaster a poster onto a textured wall and to cause a graphic to conform to the wrinkles in a T-shirt.
NOTE: Some Windows users have reported issues accessing the video playback controls. While we're working on the issue, here's a Temporary Workaround: Click "Introduction" in the table of contents to the right of the video and then immediately click within the video to give it focus. After doing so, use the spacebar to play/pause the video and the left/right arrow keys to scrub forward or backward within the video.
