In this lesson I tackle a challenge image that was submitted by a Masters Academy member. It's a photo of an blue egg that needs to be extracted from the background, while retaining the shadow and then a new background is added and various adjustments and retouching are performed.Note: one of the downloadable practice files has been compressed into a .zip file since the original file format of .dng is not directly supported by our web site. You'll need to double-click on the file after downloading to extract the contents before attempting to use the file in Photoshop.
NOTE: Some Windows users have reported issues accessing the video playback controls. While we're working on the issue, here's a Temporary Workaround: Click "Introduction" in the table of contents to the right of the video and then immediately click within the video to give it focus. After doing so, use the spacebar to play/pause the video and the left/right arrow keys to scrub forward or backward within the video.
