Digital Fine Art Nudes
Instructor: Ben Willmore Location: Lepp Insitute of Digital Imaging in Los Osos, California May 12-16 2008 Course Fee: $1,350 (includes model fees) Click here for more details About the Course Ben Willmore has been shooting fine art nudes for over two decades. In this workshop, he will demonstrate is unique take on composition, lighting and post processing techniques. The first four days of class will feature morning slide shows of Ben's previous work along with commentary about how he interprets the subject, midday shooting sessions with live models both in the studio and outdoors and afternoon Photoshop demonstrations and optional evening digital lab time. The last day of class will be spent in the digital lab refining the images you shot during the week and printing the results.
You will learn how to use light, shadow, depth of field and composition to create fine art nudes that are memorable and unique. This includes how to visualize how three dimensional objects will be rendered in a 2D photograph, how to pose the body for dramatic effect, how to avoid common problems and how to use light and shadow to define shape. This workshop is a unique combination of one third conceptual ideas (how to think about shooting), one third hands-on shooting experience and one third digital darkroom technique.
You can view a range of Ben's photography on his portfolio web site at www.theBestofBen.com (nudes are not posted on-line since many of them feature models that prefer not to have their nudes viewable in a public forum).
